Yayasan CARE Peduli Celebrates 5th Anniversary

“I am very grateful because with the presence of YCP in our village, women who have participated in trainings have experienced changes, for example, they have become more confident and able to express their opinions,” said Sitti Fatimah, Head of KUEP Perempuan Mandiri Peduli, Karya Maju Village, in the Program Participant Talk session at the YCP’s 5th Anniversary celebration, Tuesday, 22 August 2023.

Sitti is one of the participants of the Women’s Empowerment Program in Palm Oil Communities in Musi Banyuasin Regency. There were 4 other program participants who shared their stories and experiences in the session, including:

  • Galih Saputra, HR – Industrial Relation Specialist Cargill and Committee Member of Women Worker Safe House (RP3), Women’s Empowerment Program in Palm Oil Communities in Musi Banyuasin Regency
  • Serlin Marlinto, Pasir Putih Village Midwife, Stunting Reduction for A Resilient and Bright Future Generation Program in West Sumbawa Regency
  • Novianty, Cadre of Mantu Integrated Healthcare Center, Stunting Reduction for A Resilient and Bright Future Generation Program in West Sumbawa Regency
  • Widiani, former garment worker and member of JEKATA Purwakarta, Striving for Women’s Rights (SWIR) Program

The celebration was attended by YCP’s Board of Patron, Esti Andayani and YCP’s Board of Supervisors, Vivien Kusumowardhani and Agus Prabowo. In addition, the event was also attended by Government representatives, corporate partners, organisational partners, and media; including: Secretariat of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB), Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), UN Women Indonesia, Cargill, Unilever, Djarum Foundation.

At the end of the event, there was an interactive Angklung session, where guests played together the angklung instruments guided by the conductor and performed the song ‘Laskar Pelangi’. This symbolises that COLLABORATION is the main key in realising dreams or common goals for Indonesia to continue to move forward.
