We aim to empower the rights of the poorest and most vulnerable people to be heard at negotiation forums and decision-making processes, to be more resilient to climate shocks, biodiversity loss, and pollution, and to deliver breakthrough solutions. The following are key program priorities:

Advocating climate justice

The climate emergency amplifies existing inequalities based on wealth, age, race, and gender. We are committed to addressing climate change through adaptation and risk reduction. We advocate for the rights of the poorest and most vulnerable communities in climate negotiations and support projects that enhance their resilience. Empowering individuals with knowledge and resources enables them to protect their lives, livelihoods, and futures. By amplifying women’s voices, we ensure their participation in decision-making processes that shape their lives.

Advocating biodiversity justice

Biodiversity loss worsens inequality and poverty by reducing the availability of essential resources like food, medicine, and clean water, disproportionately impacting vulnerable communities reliant on these resources. It also threatens the livelihoods of farmers, fishers, and forest-dependent communities, leading to economic hardships. Marginalized communities further suffer from increased inequality when excluded from decision-making processes related to natural resource use and management. We commit to strengthening land and natural resource rights, especially women’s rights, in decision-making processes. It also includes enhancing capacity-building initiatives and supporting the development of sustainable livelihood alternatives that are compatible with biodiversity conservation. It facilitates knowledge-sharing, learning networks and multi-stakeholder partnerships by fostering platforms for sharing traditional knowledge, best practices, and experiences among different communities and encouraging collaboration.

Advocating environment justice

Plastic pollution has a profound impact on inequality, women, and poverty, further exacerbating existing disparities in society. Women face disproportionate challenges due to societal gender roles and responsibilities as they are frequently involved in waste management and water resource management, increasing their exposure to harmful toxins. Moreover, limited access to clean water sources and the economic repercussions of plastic pollution hinder women’s ability to perform daily activities, participate in the workforce, and improve their economic status. Our commitment is to empower women to advance smart and innovative solutions to address plastic pollution by actively engaging in educating their communities about the impact of plastic pollution and advocating for sustainable practices, driving innovation by developing and promoting sustainable alternatives to plastic products, taking a leading role in waste management and recycling initiatives, and driving policy changes, and collaborating with organizations, NGOs, and government entities working towards plastic pollution reduction.
