PROVISION OF SUPPLEMENTARY FOOD (PMT) IN 16 VILLAGES IN WEST SUMBAWA REGENCY

On 19 December 2022, the Yayasan CARE Peduli (YCP) has started the Provision of Supplementary Food (PMT) activities to 203 stunted children and 60 pregnant women with Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) conditions in 16 villages in Maluk, Jereweh and Sekongkang Districts, West Sumbawa Regency. PMT activities are carried out for the next 90 days until 19 March 2023, with the aim to increase children’s body weight and height.

Prior to the PMT activity, YCP had provided training on food and nutrition for infants to the Health Coaches. To support the Health Coaches, a Healthy Kitchen to Overcome Stunting (DASHAT) team was also formed, which is a community empowerment program responsible for socializing and training the community, giving them the skill and knowledge on how to prepare a healthy food menu and has a balanced nutritional intake, by utilizing local ingredients.
