As one of a series of activities from the Stunting Acceleration Reduction Program in West Sumbawa Regency (KSB) and to motivate and support families with stunted children, Yayasan CARE Peduli (YCP) has held Parenting Classes in March 2023 in Jereweh, Maluk and Sekongkang sub-districts.
Parenting Class is an activity to provide information regarding the provision of nutritious food according to the age of the child. In addition, the Parenting Class is a forum for education about maternal and child health as well as environmental health to ensure the continuity of the Provision of Supplementary Food (PMT) for Recovery for families with stunted children and pregnant women with Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK).
Since the program was launched, 61 out of 198 stunted children in the target villages or 36% of children have been given a stunting-free status. This is a good result from a series of program activities, namely:
- Capacity strengthening of Family Assistance Team (TPK)
- Supplementary Feeding (PMT) for 90 days
- Parenting classes and gender training
