Mount Semeru Eruption Emergency Response

On Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 15:15 PST, there was an eruption of Mount Semeru, located in Lumajang Regency, East Java. According to the latest data, there were 50 fatalities and 10,400 residents displaced in 406 points. Evacuation points are still concentrated in three sub-districts, namely Candipuro, Pasirian, and Pronojiwo sub-districts.

As an emergency response, Yayasan Care Peduli in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross distributed 300 packages of household equipment to the refugees of Semeru. A total of 200 aid packages were distributed by Red Cross volunteers on duty at the Penanggal Village Command Post to refugees from Sumber Wuluh Village, Candipuro District. Meanwhile, the other 100 packages were distributed to refugees from Supit Urang Village, Pronojiwo District at the Pronojiwo Command Post. In addition to distributing Emergency Response assistance, the YCP Emergency  Response Manager, T. Khairil Azmi participated in coordination meetings with the Regional Government and the Emergency Response Post for Hot Clouds and Abortions related to the relocation and construction plan of 2,000 Temporary Shelters by the District Government of Lumajang.
