On Wednesday (08/03) at around 4 pm, hundreds of PT CDB garment workers in Sukabumi were seen gathering in the company yard after they finished their work that day. Many of the garment workers queued and crowded around the JEKATA booth to get stickers and chocolates which were distributed by JEKATA Sukabumi members and PT CDB employees.

“Safe and Comfortable Work, Free of Violence Against Women” is the theme of the outreach activity conducted to commemorate the International Women’s Day 2023.

This activity was also supported by the company, PT CDB, in which its employees participated in distributing stickers and chocolates, including: Bambang Jatmika, Chairman of Workers Union of PT CDB, and Mochamad Suhud, Compliance of PT CDB.

Mala Sari, PT CDB Garment Worker and the Head of JEKATA Sukabumi, said that 90% of garment workers are women, therefore protecting women’s rights is imperative.

With this outreach, Yayasan CARE Peduli and JEKATA Sukabumi hope that female garment workers have more knowledge about violence in the workplace and have the courage to report it.

The stickers were distributed along with a Hotline Complaint which directly connected to the Complaint Post of Violence Against Women.
