In collaboration with PMI Cianjur Regency, Yayasan CARE Peduli (YCP) provided support for the early recovery program (Cianjur earthquake on 21 November 2022) by distributing 5,000School Kit Packages to 5 Elementary Schools: SDN Citamiang, SDN Salahuni, SDN Bunikasih 4, SLB AB Bina Asih, and SLB C Bina Asih.
The School Kit Package includes essential items such as school bags, uniforms, stationery, whistles, and keychains containing emergency contact numbers. The whistle serves as a self-rescue tool in the event of a disaster or when facing potential incidents of crime.
As part of this initiative, PMI Cianjur Regency volunteers conducted an earthquake evacuation simulation. Students, teachers, and school staff were educated about crucial measures to take during an earthquake, the importance to follow evacuation signs installed in the school, and the functionality of whistles and emergency contact numbers.
“We distributed school bags and educational supplies to students who were affected by the earthquake. We also equipped them with a specific equipment, making these bags not just for school purposes but for disaster preparedness as well,” said Ahmad Fikri, Chairman of PMI Cianjur Regency.
