A gender-responsive disaster response recognizes that each family member may have different needs during an emergency. To help families access essential items based on these needs, Yayasan CARE Peduli, together with its partners, distributed CARE Package for Emergency (CP4E) to 425 families across Aceh Tamiang District, Sigi District, and Nagekeo District.

Designed to address a range of essential needs during emergencies, CP4E provides practical items that can be easily used and carried by family members. The package includes hygiene and personal care supplies, including sanitary pads and underwear, solar-powered lighting, water storage and filtration equipment, cooking kit, and emergency shelter supplies.

“My house was damaged, with cracks and several parts of the building collapsing. For now, my family and I are staying in a tent next to the house. My kitchen utensils were also damaged by the rubble, making it difficult to prepare meals. The assistance from CARE Indonesia has been very helpful because the package is comprehensive. It includes tarpaulins for the tent, kitchen kit, cloth, lamps, and other essential items.”
