Gender-responsive business practices are a key driver of sustainable growth and stronger competitiveness in the global marketplace. As expectations for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance continue to rise, companies must foster workplaces that are safe, inclusive, and equitable. Empowering women should therefore be viewed not as an additional cost, but as a strategic investment that enhances productivity, strengthens talent retention, and creates long-term business value.

To support the advancement of gender-responsive workplaces, the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (Kementerian Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak), in collaboration with CARE Indonesia and Tirto.id, hosted the webinar “Strengthening Gender-Responsive Business Practices for Sustainable Competitiveness” (7/7). During the webinar, the WISe (Workplace Inclusion and Safe Spaces) Index was introduced as an initiative that helps companies strengthen gender-responsive business practices through assessments, tailored recommendations for improvement, and recognition of their commitment to building more inclusive and sustainable workplaces.
