PSEA Training for 6 Schools in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi

PROSPER II has conducted PSEA (Prevention of Sexual, Exploitation and Abuse) training as well as Workshop on Preparation of Child Protection Mechanisms at School Level and Community Level on 9-15 May 2022 in 6 Villages in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi.

The activity aims to increase knowledge about various forms of violence and sexual exploitation of children, as well as identify how to prevent it and who needs to be involved.

As a continuation of this activity, a focused discussion was held on the mechanism for protecting children from various forms of violence in the school and community environment. This focused discussion was discussed in more detail the vulnerabilities faced by children that caused cases of violence to occur, barriers to protection work and also the minimum standards that must exist for the prevention and handling of cases of violence.

Participants from various entities at the school, community and district levels provided constructive discussion results, which will be used in the preparation of a holistic and integrated child protection mechanism between schools, families and communities.

As of the end of the activity, a total of 32 participants attended the training, including school principals, teachers, education office staff, representatives of parents of students, Staff of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Regional Development Planning Agency , PATBM (Community-Based Integrated Child Protection), Village and District Governments.

Learning Workshop of YCP Humanitarian Program in Central Sulawesi

The closing ceremony for the Humanitarian Response program in Central Sulawesi was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. The event was attended by the Regional Government, namely representatives of the Governor of Central Sulawesi and the Mayor of Palu, YCP’s local partners namely IMUNITAS, Karsa Institute, and Relawan Orang dan Alam (ROA) as well as beneficiaries, assisted communities, academics and the mass media.

This program consists of the stages of emergency response, recovery, and building resilience. The intervention locations for this program are spread across Central Sulawesi, namely Palu City, Sigi Regency and Donggala Regency.

In partnership with local governments and local organizations, the Program has established 110 Community Enterprises and serves more than 100,000 people.
