Helen Vanwel – Country Director
Helen has more than 25 years of experience working in the development sector in Indonesia, Canada and other countries in Asia. She has managed multimillion dollar development projects in China and Indonesia, monitored and evaluated development projects for The Canadian Department of Global Affairs, Canada and the Danish government, and completed a number of assignments for The World Bank and other organizations.
Helen is a Director of the Indonesia Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) and Co- Chair of the ICC Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee and a founding member of the Canadian Alumni in Indonesia Association (CALINDO). As a volunteer, she was involved in raising $1.5 million towards the post-tsunami recovery of a village in Aceh. Helen holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
Hadi Sutjipto – Program Support & Finance Director
Hadi has been working with CARE Indonesia for more than 26 years. As the Program Support and Finance Director, Hadi manages various positions and has developed an expertise in community development, HR, finance, auditing and donor reporting, compliance, logistics, emergency preparedness and response and government liaison.
Erlyn Shukmadewi – Economic Empowerment Development Manager & Business Development Specialist
Erlyn has been involved in development work with local and international organisations for many years, dealing with issues of education, social and economic development, and disaster response. Prior to joining CARE, Erlyn provided technical assistance to a range of national and multinational stakeholders including the World Bank, INGOs, BAPPENAS, and the private sector.
With particular expertise in the financial industry, Erlyn manages a wide range of projects at CARE, including baseline analyses, market research, product evaluation, program reviews, due diligence and product development. Erlyn is certified in several international and national modules, including by CGAP, City group, AIMS, and GTZ.
Wahyu Widayanto – Emergency Preparedness / Response Manager & Safety and Security Focal Point
Wahyu has over 15 years of experience working with large project teams throughout Indonesia. He is an expert on preparedness and emergency response, including engaging and maintaining good communication and relationships with stakeholders such as government, private sectors, INGOs/NGOs and the UN.
Wahyu has a Sarjana Degree (S1) in Agriculture (Agricultural Socio -Economics) from Soedirman University, Purwokerto, Central Java.
Kartika Juwita – Project Manager and Alliance Co-Lead, Partners for Resilience
Kartika has over 10 years’ experience managing development programs, with a focus on WASH, Health, Disaster Management, Climate Change and Resilience. Over this time, she has worked with several large development organisations and donor organisations at local, national, and international levels.
Kartika brings to CARE skills in the areas of humanitarian diplomacy, programme development, programme management and programme implementation and review, fundraising, organizational development and strengthening, capacity building, and policy development.
